The Baray Villa is basically a group of villas behind Kata beach and is a genuine escape from the loud, very busy streets in Phuket. You will have your own small private pool, which leads into the main pool which is only for one or two villas. In fact the pools of which there are three are all linked to a last pool which connects all of the villas together. The standard of service is definitely the best you will get anywhere. The staff will generally be the best and most helpful and alert you will find even if you always stay in top hotels. Your split level villa will be totally sumptuous, superbly furnished, and with Arab style decor. It is definitely huge for a couple, and additionally you will have your own personal assistant. None of this is obvious when you enter, till you get into this oasis, which is actually like a Royal palace.
The whole area is beautifully shaded by trees and bushes, there are relaxation corners, the soothing sounds of waterfalls, and very pretty sculptures, all very romantic . The food is as good as it gets and you are less than a couple of minutes walk away from a variety of restaurants and bars where you can enjoy a loy more of the gorgeous local food. Many people would tell you that The Hotel Botanico & The Oriental Spa Garden is not only the best hotel on Tenerife but also the whole Canary Islands. The words opulent, quality and attention to detail are the most relevant things you read about with absolutely top class staff. It has good sized rooms that are both light and airy, and it's nice to have a hallway with a second door, and the beds unlike some other hotels are big and exceedingly comfortable.
A superb feature is the food, with the gigantic breakfasts being as good as you'll get anywhere. The Spa although it is pricey offers high quality treatments, with indoor and outside pools, sauna, steam rooms, and an ice temple. Overall the facilities are outstanding, with the pool area and the gardens remarkable. The average age of the customers here is on the older side, and it would possibly not be the top choice for a family with small children. It is however in Puerto de la Cruz a wonderful part of Tenerife, and there is lots to explore, and good restaurants and bars near by.
